Here’s how I got there:

While working at Indeed, I became fascinated by job alerts because we sent a ton each week. When I started to actually job search, I signed up for a bunch and my inbox started filling up. As I got application updates, replies and interviews scheduled, I noticed there was a lot going on in my inbox. Rather than start at the individual sites like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc., I used my inbox as the source of truth.

That was the lightbulb moment for me.

That’s why I built JobBox. Right now it focuses on organizing job alerts into one place, and I’m going to try including application updates and recruiter emails next.

I’ve launched a beta that focuses on job alerts. It’s free and available at https://www.jobbox.cc.

Another thing I found is that there’s actually very little overlap in the jobs these sites send: https://www.jobbox.cc/senior-product-manager-seattle-jobs.ht...

JobBox connects to your Gmail and uses readonly access to parse job-related emails. Google requires a security audit for this access, which we’ve completed.

I’m curious whether this matches what others see in their job searches, and what would make something like this more useful.

Nice idea. Can I choose a strategy for token reduction, based on what I'm optimzing for? I might be ok with a quality drop for a great cost savings, for example.

Should definitely seed with recruiters in Japan. It's still a huge part of finding a job there. Robert Walters, Robert Half, Hays and more.

Also, is this intended for individual recruiters as well or just agencies?

Can you add a specific rating around if they respect your time? Don't think we need a 30 min call for you to finally reveal the role to me!

I think poster means a local area, not a locally-owned coffee shop. Meaning in NYC it doesn't matter if it's a Starbucks or Locally owned shop, you still wouldn't leave the laptop.

However, if it's a local coffee shop in the middle of Nebraska, you would be ok.

This is a nicely polished product. Seems like there was good attention to detail. You could add a bit more value before requiring upgrade. I'm not sure what jobs I'll see or how it will match if I upgrade. If I pay and get matches I don't like, that's going to be a bad experience. Suggest some preview of what the matches would be like.

Is this something new within the last year? I just travelled on Flixbus across Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland and received no checks.

I used to work at Indeed and support your spite! A few comments: - the term pack isn't common so you might need to explain or try some other term - Radar chart is a nice visual - Overall visuals are interesting. What are your thoughts on showing the resume so much on the search page? I would imagine the first impression is cool, but after that practically it takes up a lot of space.

Overall, it's an interesting concept for sure. I'll give it more usage and report back.

This is kind of fun! When I zoom in it's very pixelated. The geographic formations will help pick a place but it's blurry to see them when I zoom closely.

Wouldn't this apply to every social network? Or is this because LinkedIn shows a teaser for free and more detail for paid?
