I have an XC90 but the hybrid that is not plug in. I can say that the software is complete trash. The screen often goes black. I’ve had to replace twice parts that made the entertainment system dead. My second car is a model Y and now I dread driving the Volvo. It’s bigger so we use it to go to the cottage but other than that, I wish I had something different.

Fellow.app | Remote in Canada | Junior/Intermediate/Senior Software Engineer | Full-time | https://fellow.app/careers
Fellow is pioneering the future of work through its category-defining meeting productivity and team management platform. We’re an early-stage venture-backed startup (iNovia, Felicis, and Garage Capital) from the founders of Fluidware (acquired by SurveyMonkey), and you’ll be in the first 50 people on a team on a mission to help make meetings delightful for everyone.
We use Django/React/TypeScript/GraphQL, and we’re big on building a supportive team that collaborates closely.
I get it - the act of staying away from your phone is taking up cognitive capacity. And if you're addicted, the constant reminder to check also takes cognitive capacity. Sex is no different - if you're single, or married and you want more sex than your significant other - believe me, sex will reduce your available cognitive capacity. The constant thought of how do I get more of it (single or married) I'm sure does more than your smartphone and probably the smartphone is just a tool to the idea of getting more sex.

is it? or maybe, unlike other startups, Twitter is willing to make the changes necessary to adjust course and reinvent itself? Google cut Buzz and Wave. They were both great initiatives that never took off. You can't throw good money after bad money. I think developers are important but the users experience is paramount and if to maintain that they need to adjust their service, so be it.

I think if you are just pushing through (brute force) to fix a bug "without thinking" then you will never figure it out. Also, "thinking before" as the article claims, without actually looking at the code or stack traces, that's just mental brute force.
Pretty much it's a combination of both: you look at the code, you think about what's happening and what could go wrong, you look at the code again, you think some more, you look at stacks, variables, output.. and then you think again and BOOM: you figure it out.
The best debugging tool is you. Use all you have.
