If you didn't know, 30 under 30 doesn't have a selection process and you can literally apply and game your way into being mentioned. I honestly love the site and the UI. Great job! Would be nice to have some kind of thing for YC founders as well

At multiple companies I've worked for, we've always had a janky local set up. It's always near impossible to set up local dev and we've had an entire developer tools team supporting the hacky in house tool. Wondering if anyone uses purely cloud based or third party hosted dev environments and how the experience is?

The cognitive overload is more so people not understanding the slop they are generating. Slop piles on top of slop until a situation arrives where you actually need to understand everything, and you don’t because you didn’t do the work yourself.

Seeing a lot of shocking things where upper management, from engineering managers and above who haven't written code or actually built things in years get completely swallowed by AI hype in a bad way.

Some examples:

Engineer says there's a problem or something won't work, and manager+ role uses Cursor to double check there work and proposes some slop solution that AI comes up with. This wastes engineers time by having to sift through this for no reason. It also erodes trust that engineers feel from higher ups, who convey that they who haven't coded + Cursor can do a better job than people coding in the trenches day in and day out.

Other example, engineers say they need a few days to dig into an old codebase/repo to understand some things. Higher up says you can just use Cursor and understand it in an hour(which is never the case since LLMs have no tribal/business context on things).

Wondering if others have seen or experienced the same thing. I think this would make for really bad engineering cultures for teams

Ramp valued at $32B is a joke. Hopefully this sets a realistic benchmark for valuation. All Ramp did was spend more on ads and marketing. And CEO is now claiming their "AI Agents" are going to do something meaningful.

you really don't need any of this crap. you just need Claude Code and CLAUDE.MD in directories where you need to direct it. complicated AI set ups are mid curve

This is classic engineer trying to build a business. Indie software is more of a business than it is software. Everyone wants to do the easy part(coding/tech), nobody wants to relentlessly service customers and do marketing/distribution.

Coding is easy. Building a business is hard, whether indie or VC backed.
