Plenty of places have required renters insurance going back the last two decades I've been an adult. My parents were landlords in the hood when I was a kid and they required it (as a lease provision, never enforced).
However, it is landlord and location dependant - it's pretty much the norm in NYC, for example (see https://www.reddit.com/r/AskNYC/comments/11bl350/does_your_a...).

Renters insurance protects the landlord from liability claims. They don't care if you insure your own property, but I don't know of an insurance company that decouples liability and property.
Also, renters insurance is cheap, I haven't rented in more than a decade but when I rented I was only paying less than $100/year for it.
I just looked it up and currently the average premium for renters insurance is $15 to $22 a month.

Big medical systems will post their clinical trails quarterly or so. If you have a big medical system near you you can sign up for emails. I imagine universities would have a mailing list too, if they regularly did clinical trials.
You can also search here: https://clinicaltrials.gov/
I was a clinical trial participant once and it was a positive experience for me.

Tody (not Toby) is a scheduling app exactly as you describe that you are building and theres no "clutter." You can use it to schedule tasks on any interval, and seasonally. Literally it's exactly what you are describing.
Dismissing it as "built for stuff that gets dirty again, like vacuuming and counters" just means you didn't even look at it. Saying it doesn't support "only nagging you about gutters in the right season" is a lie, it absolutely supports that. I use it to schedule household tasks exactly as you describe, and even personal tasks like applying night cream (every 3 days) and doing my hair treatment (every 60 days).
You can also easily track multiple properties, just set each property is an "area."
I don't know why you can't just say "I'm building it because I want to build something" instead of pretending that the thing you're building doesn't already exist.

>“Virtuous” is not a word I’d associate at all with wanting to become a doctor. Veterinarians are a different matter, though.
For those that don't know, veterinarian education is just as rigorous, time consuming, and expensive as human medical education, yet the median annual wage for practicing veterinarians is $125,510.

Not to be a Debbie downer but Tody already handles home maintenance tracking, and it's already close to perfect IMO. What does your app offer that Tody doesn't? I can't download it because it's iOS only.

>One reason why doctor is more popular is the process for becoming one is high effort but low risk.
Disagree completely that becoming a doctor is low risk. The amount of residency spots is capped and is smaller than the number of people graduating from medical school. Every year thousands of MDs are prevented from going to residency and thus prevented from practicing medicine, even though they graduated from medical school.
https://dailyorange.com/2026/03/opinion-amid-u-s-doctor-shor...
>In 2025, 9,541 applicants went unmatched, including 2,409 soon-to-be graduates of United States schools awarding Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degrees.
