Trying to answer what I think is the most reasonable point you’re trying to make: supply chain extends beyond you and your actions.

What if you were distributing food, and a farmer who supplied rice to one of the manufacturers of the components of your food grew that rice on a field that was contaminated with arsenic?

In general no! The EFF is not interested in litigating laws that are firmly established! They spend their resources on cases that can set legal precedent.

When you call about something like this, they’ll try to give you some general advice and refer you to a law firm.

It reads like people are almost purposefully misinterpreting what he said to give themselves a basis to disagree.

This is what drives people on Twitter to write incredibly defensive posts that attempt to address every possible misinterpretation and criticism.

That type of writing is useless, because motivated people will still search for a new angle of disagreement, and the impact of the message is diluted by the time spent addressing the criticisms. Can you imagine how bland this would have been if he started it with an explanation of Catholic just war theory and a list of reasons why this war doesn’t qualify

As someone who only has a passing interest, there isn't anything distilled enough in this article for me to comment on as the central point. Everyone seems to be reporting impossible numbers, and buying dramatically more hardware than they can install in a reasonable timeframe given the pace of the industry.

I have managed multiple relationships with Apple business and the only thing I can think you could possibly be talking about is having a local store reserve devices for you to buy.

As far as identifying a bug in the software and getting it fixed, or requesting a feature, you run into a brick wall. Taking that feedback from customers is not the Apple way. This is why there is a market for third party MDM companies in the first place.

You can prevent a good bit of this for your friends and family by going into their ChatGPT settings > Personalization > Base Style and Tone: choose Efficient, and then choose "less" for warmth, enthusiasm, and emoji.

It makes a remarkable difference.

If I'm understanding you, it seems like you're struck by hindsight bias. No one knew the miasma theory was wrong... it could have been right! Only with hindsight can we say it was wrong. Seems like we're in the same situation with LLMs and AGI.
