That's an interesting point and I agree it makes some kind of sense, but is there a source for it?

I live in Montpellier France and all transit has become free 2 years ago. I didn't notice any change in people's behavior at all. Transit is also free in Talinn IIRC and I wonder if they saw something there?

Glad to see my city of Montpellier, France in first place on the list! I really think it's under appreciated. You have the same great weather and openness culture as California, lots of great nature easily accessible and very close, you can go to Paris, Marseille or Toulouse very fast by train, even to Barcelona and Madrid!

I discovered that recently, it's a very fun way to contribute to OpenStreetMap, and the UI is really well-done, it's totally beginner friendly! I wish there was a way to do more than labeling though, like add simple roads and footpaths

Yeah it seems crazy to me that this is news. Here in France the government officially recommends to avoid screens at all costs for under 3 years omds and as much as possible under 6. There are tons of studies showing it hinders their development.

I'm surprised, isn't it forbidden to use the Max plan as part of a company? Just curious, as I thought it was forbidden by the ToS but I'm not sure if I have a good understanding of it

Very surprised and sad to see so many dismissive comments of the book. It's a really popular one in France for a very good reason. It's so creative, poetic and touching that I doubt you can read it and stay indifferent.

If you've never read it, do yourself a favor and do so! It's quite short, and I hope you'll like it.

We actually start what we call "diversification" (=eating solid food) even earlier in France: we were advised by our paediatrician to do it when the baby was 4 months old.

Apparently if you start early and have him try a lot of different stuff (especially potentially allergenic things like nuts), it causes less allergy problems later on.

It's worked very well for us, the kid loves it and feeding him is quite fun (although certainly messy!)

It's interesting to see how different it is depending on the country though!

I've used matplotlib in the past and was disappointed by the final look of the generated charts, nice to know there's hope and I can make them look good the next time I need it :D

The French mapping service is starting to do HD LIDAR captures of the whole of France, and some of them are already available: https://geoservices.ign.fr/lidarhd (At the bottom)

I'd be curious to know if you plan to include these in your app at some point in the future?

A big argument for night trains is ecology and diminishing your CO2 footprint, which won't be affected by airport efficiency

To be honest, as a European I think it's a good thing and we're already seeing its consequences: salaries which are way lower than US ones have already started rising, and lots of interesting startups that didn't want to hire us before have changed their minds.

So at least on our side of the ocean it's pretty good! I just hope there's no negative impact for Americans and we can all enjoy this change.

Wow that sounds like a really interesting editor for Golang! Only missing thing I absolutely need is the debugger+a test runner. Once those are here I think I'll buy a license!
