If you start to let AI decide or influence policy, it can kill people. This seems very simple to me...

1. Put AI in charge of health policy 2. Give it a naive misguided charter/goal eg eliminate suffering 3. Euthanasia for everyone

This is simply AI optimizing for the goal - the goal is the evil/naive/misguided part, not the AI.

Those who aim to "eliminate suffering" are the issue here to be clear, but unfortunately they are a growing group.

Isn’t the whole point that they don’t want you to use the website - they want you to install the app. Why would they make the website an enjoyable experience?

Wouldn't need any of that. An AI agent setup to "Do the best for the world" or some other broad claim, and with enough power to say crash the stock market, disrupt power supply, delivery, etc etc after reasoning that it's all for the best.

If people start giving enough power to AI, with ill thought out goals, and no human in charge, don't be surprised...

Why would it need "free will" or "consciousness" whatever that means?

A concrete example might be putting an AI in charge of health policy, and telling it to "eliminate suffering" without any human to check and push back. Well, the best way to eliminate suffering is...

You're citing a government report to support their position on why we need infinity immigration? Seriously?

The UK population grew from about 58.9 million in 2000 to 69 million in 2025 - an increase of roughly 10 million people. The large majority of that came from immigration.

And you don't think having to house an extra 10 million people is a reason for the housing crisis?

I would suggest you do your own research, and use your own logic and reason rather than blindly accepting government reports into why what they're doing is brilliant.

Maybe you want to byte align some data, or pack to a certain size but keep compat. I think they're going to be rare cases, but I can see it being used.

I don't think this approach is wise.

Concentrate on code quality, and whether it does what it needs to do. Not whether it was written by AI or not.

Fun little game, but I think the questions jump context so much it's a little unrepresentative. It might be better to group things into "packs", which have more real-world representative structure to them. For example, lots of "editing something.js" file permission requests, and then an "npm publish" is far more normal, and it's more of a risk, if you're used to pressing Y lots and then suddenly out of the blue...

And so the cycle will continue. Always a shame when languages cave like this and add extra unnecessary complexity and error prone hard to parse syntax.

It'll be interesting to see the next language that comes along rejecting bloat in favor of simplicity, and then we can all start again.
