recently i was given 72 hours for a take home. they required me to keep the “challenge” confidential and assign the rights to the code to them. i’m wondering what you all think of that.

How do you all deal with downloading and archiving your bank, credit card, investment account and other statements?

I find myself constantly logging in everywhere and downloading them manually which takes a lot of time and is easy to forget. Wondering if there isn't an easier way to do this.

Of course once solution might be to have them all sent on paper to a mailbox which auto-scans the statements so they are all in one place and can be archived this way or downloaded from that location.

Something to consider... it does sound more like a small business / small time user type situation and not an enterprise arrangement.

What are some good solutions to prevent businesses from using your software past termination of a licensing agreement or past a trial date?

Specifically, this is in the context of software that is installed on linux servers for which a monthly licensing fee needs to be paid.

Some ideas I had myself: - reduce reliability of software past certain date - use a licensing server with the software connecting to it to check if it is allowed to run - keep some type of secure date or time counter which is checked

Curious what scenarios you've had yourself in your startup dealing with customers and how you've handled this.

why do you think a subassembly cannot cost $250 if you picked up the device for $300? just go buy another device then? what is your point? you want to buy a porsche for 20k and then you are surprised that a new gearbox is 30k???

so what happens if you get these RSUs and you can’t sell them but you still get a huge tax bill because you got them??? do they sell some off themselves to pay your tax bill?

these samplers used to cost $3000-5000

if you are concerned about $200 for a replacement kit you should probably sell them to someone else

I have been offered a certain number of RSUs as part of a compensation package and need to determine what the realistic value is of these RSUs.

The company is not public yet but has been around for about 10 years and is pretty well known.

When I asked about the value of the RSUs they refused to share any key numbers such as outstanding shares, valuation etc.

Based on public info the valuation is in the single digit billions.

How does one come up with a realistic pricing range of the RSUs when evaluating an offer?

These are questions for those with a law school background who have some experience with hiring processes in larger tech companies.

1) Do you have the right in California to demand and receive copies of all interviewer notes and other information (e.g. how you have been categorized, flagged, etc) related to your past job interviews at a company?

2) Can you demand that all information related to past job interviews is deleted from their systems?
