<p>nothing about the performance characteristics of python changed with AI so why would you use python over golang if performance is a requirement/bottleneck? Trying to understand the reasoning as to me golang and python are equally simple to write and understand.</p>

<p>The system self corrects by companies moving to a different supplier. If 3M has to increase prices (they will) to offset the settlement costs, then other suppliers will be comparatively cheaper. 3M share price and profit will decrease which incentivizes the board and or shareholders to encourage safer (read: legal) business practices.</p>

<p>This may be relevant to a space with a large(r) amount of mature competitors, but I am not sure it exists in smaller (less mature) markets to the extent it impacts your ability to sell.<p>You need a considerable amount of internal political power to  push away a new “competitor”, which generally requires time (maturity).<p>This is not to say it does not happen, but I think the markets where this is a key element of friction in selling  possess enough capital to win-over entrenched “rent-seekers” if needed.</p>
