<p>I love the comments saying that giving $500k instead of $125k will make things worse. Clearly YC should have made things better instead, by giving less!<p>Why stop there though? If YC really cared about founders, they'd give them nothing. Better yet, make them pay - now that would have been helpful! But no. Clearly YC doesn't care about founders.<p>YC really ought to stop making things worse for founders like this. I mean how dare they.</p>

<p>The truth is that the "best ones" are often obsessed with their work and endure painful tradeoffs in their lives, for example their family lives, because of it.<p>People who do great work tend to think about their work all the time. No one thinks about their fourth priority all the time.</p>
