yes, nuclear reprocessing is actually a fairly old technology and it closes the nuclear fuel cycle, leaving only short lived byproducts.
It is currently illegal in America because reprocessing spent nuclear fuel produces weapons grade plutonium which is a proliferation risk. The economics are not great either since it's cheaper to just mine more uranium and pay to store the (5% used) fuel.
France and Russia have a few plants that do it though.

A model 3 MSRP is $45k. A used one can be found for even less than that.
Check your local car prices, b/c that is not really that expensive and certainly nowhere close to "rich" territory.
A fully loaded F-150 is $78k. I would be shocked if you also said anyone driving an F-150 is by definition rich.
Also, a cheap used car may be drastically less expensive to buy for most people, but they will ultimately pay thousands of dollars of maintenance, part replacements, fluid changes and gas which a Tesla really never has to deal with, ever. No one seems to talk about this.

That sounds extremely accurate, and not for the extremes either.
Newt Gingrich & Rush Limbaugh began the mantra of refusing to compromise on any position. They are anything but extreme and are really more the torch bearers. Rush was even awarded a Presidential medal of Freedom.
And sensitivity to issues of fairness is hardly an extreme position. That's probably the most mainstream belief associated with liberalism and just plain being a good human being.
What bias?

You have your terms backwards.
Fusion is what they are doing here. Fission we have already figured out and have been generating power from for decades.
Fusion does not have the runaway reaction safety issues that fission has.
Also, what you're describing is what we've known since we fairly easily harnessed fusion to make a hydrogen bomb.
Controlling the reaction rate so it doesn't explode is metastable with fission, and nearly impossible with fusion. This solution is basically just using tiny explosions.

I think you're still describing a cultural cause here.
Responding to perceived aggression with your own aggression is not a given. It's a culturally decided response, not an instinctive one.
A good christian is supposed to respond to aggression by "turning the other cheek" and not responding at all. A strict, honor based society might say the only way to respond to aggression is by killing that person.
Western culture falls in between these two. Reduced inhibition simply makes your judgement of the consequences worse so people usually make the choice they want to make (shaped by their culture) and just don't think though what it could mean.
