I would suggest to go work for Hardware startups and deep-tech. Think quantum computing, advanced robotics, fusion/nuclear, new space. Most of the algorithms ran there are constrained and new, and having a physical system with limited computation/speed makes for a interesting challenge, while still "achieving difficult stuff".

This is such a missed opportunity to name the site "BurritOwls" !

To use Whatsapp only, without all the other useless features, try using Beeper. Also works to use instagram messaging without having the instagram app itself, therefore no doom-scrolling. It's open-source.

Level 8 is a joking way of designating the user. Also refered as "the layer between the keyboard and the screen".

A bit disappointed to see the only message mentioning the primary app here is a bad review, so I though I'd chime in and say we (I and three friends) absolutely love it. It's the only app with such versatility, with almost 24h support, and it's getting better every week, on every platform. The UI is really nice for an invite-only product. Your review is mainly based on SMS, which is a fraction of what the app can do. Congrats to the team, keep up the great work !

I think what the author means is 'new chip could be used as a single decoding circuit instead of having a chip combining all the protocols and algorithms'.

FPGA are also way easier to harden to sustains radiations in space. The custom silicon you mention is done by a french foundry, STmicroelectronics.

New comment by bandedetrappes in "Reddit's website uses DRM for fingerprinting"

You're right in a sense that it does not threaten the international community, but the old design acted as a deterrent against the majority of "pictures, easy browsing and quick content" users, which have since drowned the original community. Most of the people I have been asking stayed away of reddit because of the interface, which is good because it retained only the people that were interested enough in the subject to dive into text-only pages.
