It's hard to believe recording media on browser is still challenging in 2024 so I had to write a post. It's a good read for anyone interested in learning from our experience or just laughing at the recurring struggles of web development.

This has been tried and tested a few times in industry, notably at Netflix and Duolingo for artwork and notifications

We built it on top of retool, that currently supports only desktop sites.

Every copy has a globally unique identifier and multiple copies can be changed in a single experiment, agnostic of channels. That way we only need to setup experiments on user level and as long as different channels are referring to the same experiment, consistent messaging will work out of the box for each copy across channels.

example: website_landing_page_title and email_subject_line can be part of the same experiment for a multi-channel experiment.

Yes this can be tailored for individual users (or groups). To go more in-depth, we'll be using contextual bandits + more novel ways to optimize the best performing copy for user segments, that works on top of the anonymized knowledge about the user.

Amazing, just something I was looking for recently. Would love to see a little "Update requests" on developer plan though and maybe a few more requests per month as that'd allow building an end to to end product with some headroom for developer testing.

Agree with above comments about price point being high. $9/month is high given the 500 requests limit per month

Do you have any concrete thoughts that you would want implemented in this domain ?

Amazon/Kindle self publishing is actually a less known but pretty clever innovation they did, especially for printed physical books. The books are printed on-demand after a customer places order on Amazon, instead of advanced publishing. This cuts down a lot on costs and resources for each book, cuts out lot of middlemen for a writer and also provides avenue for writers to go direct to market without giving up huge profits to publishing houses.

Some sort of dynamic config management existing via spring cloud or homegrown systems like configbus - easier to implement for larger tech companies, but the small and mid sized may benefit a lot f in their development speed from this off the shelf solution I believe as it evolves further

Big +1 for making it easier for non engineering folks to update the copy strings via UI. This is something very useful for product teams at mid size companies
