The best thing they could do beyond EliRivers comment is, if the circumstances for, have an open conversation about what the company can improve. And then say let's keep in touch if the new job doesn't work for you maybe we can talk.

Now you might think hey.. that is an exit interview. But exit interviews are formal form filling exercised done by a HR person that may or may not have a positive effect and there is not much incentive to be brutally honest. In fact the opposite.

Why did you decide to make this a site rather than a desktop app?

This is a private database as I see it, so there is no need for it to be online. And keeping it offline would be good for privacy, and would make it easy for anyone to download and install, rather than the more complex install needed for a web application (or letting someone else host and sacrificing privacy).

Thanks, but while ASICs may not be a threat, in general finely tuned beefy machines might be? So that running this in a browser would be as efficient as mining litecoin in a browser?

How the data is used and the scrape frequency are also factors.

Google won't bombard your site with requests and at worst will cache data but not try to make use of it.

It's not entirely ethical because the advertiser gets ripped off. It increases their cost and reduces what they are prepared to pay for ads. If everyone else used it, content creators wouldn't get paid eventually. If YouTube was independent from Google it would die.

Not necessarily. Deaf, blind, dwarfs, old (e.g. 70), very young (e.g. 16), single fathers and amputees would all be minorities that could apply to white males.

That's a good point but need to be careful not to conflate racist issues with general shit place to work issues.
