What does Rust have to do with it? You can write MIT or GPL licensed code in any language.

This is a bad idea. You can make Linux look like Windows on the surface but people are going to then be surprised and frustrated when it doesn't act like Windows, it will come off as cheap imitation. People get confused about the idea of something as simple as the concept of a single root file system, they will not understand that coming from a world of C, D, and E drives. It's best to make it look foreign to them so that they don't have their expectations subverted when they realize it actually is a fundamentally different operating system.

I wish it would get LSP support. There are some plugins but they seem buggy/ incomplete/ abandoned. It could be a nice lightweight alternative to VSCode.

Why is that the bare minimum?

I also think that doc page is a little old. The feature is over 2 years old now and hot reloading is inherently "unsafe" in any compiled language. It's just letting you know that Rust's safety guarantees might go out the window if there are bugs in the code that handles hot-reloading.

What do you mean by this? Rust has multiple game engines that support hot reloading and/ or scripting.

The code generation is certainly a build step. This kind of code generation is common for interfaces defined outside of a project's programming language.

KDE Plasma 6 will have some basic support for HDR features when it comes out. The Wayland color management protocol needed for full support is not yet finalized although there is a working informal implementation of HDR for the Steam Deck OLED.

Do you think I'm saying this because I'm a Republican? Biden has actually been the best president of my lifetime for these issues but that just speaks to how pathetic the Democrats have been on economic issues for decades. Barely opposition at all economically speaking, they differentiate themselves more by wearing Kente cloth and engaging in divisive culture war stuff these days.

Anti-monopoly policy is one lever the president has and has been essentially ignored since the 70s in favor talking about the fed the fed the fed all the time.

As one example the meat packing industry has become highly consolidated, squeezing both farmers and consumers while extracting massive profits. But across the entire economy many industries have become highly consolidated and subsequently raised their profit margins to the detriment of everyone but shareholders.

At this moment there is still a headline up on BBC: Hospital Blast in Gaza City Kills Hundreds - Health Officials.

In addition to the problems Nate mentions with this wording a reasonable person could think that these "health officials" are a disinterested party, rather than what they are, an appendage of the Hamas run government.

The harm of child porn isn't just the children that are hurt by its production but also that it fuels the urges of the people who consume it. You don't cure people of any sexual compulsion by indulging it.

Why should having the GPU drivers checked into the same repository mean that they can't be loaded and unloaded dynamically?
