So how do I avoid apple taking the cut? Unsubscribe from people in my ios app and resubscribe on the web? I subscribe to super small creators where this 30% cut makes a meaningful difference.

Wow, I remember beets from about 10 years ago. I never got into meticulously organizing my music, but I'm glad to see it's still around. Also the site loaded absolutely ridiculously fast.

I happen to work with otel a lot so I'll offer a few of my thoughts:

- Consider decoupling your collector from whatever is consuming your traces with something like kafka. Traces can be pretty heavy and it can be tricky to scale collectors. If something goes down, it's probably a good idea to continue writing the traces to queue or topic.

- https://www.otelbin.io is a nice little tool to help with collector configuration

Contribute to something bigger than yourself and you'll start to forget about the middle class mind prison you feel like you're trapped in. Random example: help to build low cost housing via habitat for humanity. Also accept that a big part of life is simply a shit sandwich, so I recommend finding a way to not be so serious and maybe even find humor in it. Anyways, I'm late to my standup.

I would argue that ffmpeg has the hardest to understand interface in the video editing space (unless you can find a command someone else came up with that does exactly what you want)

For those who aren't aware, the name Jepsen is a play on Carly Rae Jepsen, singer behind "call me maybe". In my opinion a perfect name for a distributed systems research effort.

Like the author states, the "written in Rust" bonus many projects get does not apply to games. Most of the games I consider to be the most fun are built on an absolute rats nest dumpster fire of code (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k238XpMMn38). Sometimes bugs even expand game mechanics and make them more fun and expressive. That being said I'll definitely check out Unrelaxing Quacks, it looks great.
