When you work on proprietary code with a lot of trade secrets contained in it, on a codebase that did cost millions of dollars of man-hours to build and that holds the company's IP, you tend to be very careful where you're sending that to.

Arthritis. Causes heaps of pain and reduced mobility which brings a whole lot of other medical complications. Hips replacement are super common past a certain age.

The point was never to turn it into a profitable venture, but to acquire a widely adopted and established communication channel, turn it into an echo chamber and make it run with the least cost possible. It became what was expected of it.

If the symptoms go away with benzos, it seems that the source of your tinnitus is some form of generalised anxiety syndrome, with all the niceties that come with it: tension headaches, teeth clenching, TMJ disorder... The burnout stresses were eased thanks to the pills, but once withdrawn came back probably harder which could have then triggered your tinnitus.

This is why benzos should never be prescribed without any other therapeutic approach alongside. They just hide the pain under the carpet for a while only to see it come back worse after and the root cause needs to be addressed with other means in the meantime.

Good luck with the road back to balance. There's no secret remedy and it's probably best to take a holistic approach for it and work on your well being from multiple fronts.

Your position is extreme. And by definition one of a minority. If you've got the feeling it's growing, it's called radicalisation, which is a concern for the fate of societies since it's defeating all the efforts that have been made for getting out of some dark ages of the past.

It triggered a lot of reactions from other HNers since such a world view is denying the basic freedoms to express of the opposite gender, and even the freedom to exist.

You seem to have an education, use it to widen your perspective of the world.
