Shorting serves a valuable purpose. It removes capital from the hands of people stupid enough to believe fraudsters, and reallocates it to people who dont. The whole purpose of markets is to facilitate the efficient allocation of capital, and shorting is clearly an important part of that.

- Eat Right - actually cheaper than eating unhealthy

- Exercise Often - possible to do free

- Groom regularly - very cheap, the cost of a haircut every couple of months

Heartily disagree. If you have time to play video games and endlessly post on reddit, then you have time to get in shape and take a shower. Willpower's even easier barring mental illness (in which case they should see a doctor, not whine about women on the internet).

None of the things listed are difficult at all. They take willpower and time, of course, but they aren't rocket science.

Because the men that are willing to put in the effort are still having sex. Its not hard for a man to become attractive: eat right, exercise often, groom regularly, dress well, develop a compelling personality, cultivate relationships with interesting people. The fact that people who don't even try aren't able to have sex doesn't seem surprising (or bad).

I mean, yeah? I think you were trying to give an example of a hard to understand notation, but that page is relatively straightforward and concise. In fact, I can't think of a more straightforward (and non-ambiguous) way to express those concepts.

Frankly, I'd expect any CS student at a decent university to be able to parse that page fairly easily.

Vernacular English isn't capable of describing some concepts succinctly enough to be useful to mathematicians. If English was superior people would be using it.

This 'argument' always just seems to be a thinly veiled excuse to avoid putting in the bare minimum effort required to understand a complicated topic.
