I have an OG Vive, Oculus Quest, and a Cosmos with the wireless adapter. Several hundred hours of SteamVR over the course of the past few years. All that said, I can do 1-2 hours of VR every other day or so at most. The idea that this will be as popular as smartphones in the next 5, even 10 years seems crazy to me. Being "in VR" is pretty exhausting no matter how lightweight the headset is.

I'm assuming most people have no idea about the "advanced" options when it comes to email. Most non-tech people use a browser based gmail/yahoo/etc. account or (ugh) their ISP email

Plenty of people have their reasons for not having children and to simply call them a "dead end" is pretty heartless.

By diverse culture I mean more than one local bar and one local diner. As much as I like apple pie, I'd begin to hate it if it were my only option

Even a completely free piece of land and free housing isn't a substitution for basic infrastructure and diverse local culture. Maybe if you have a growing family or are retirement age, but with the childless 35 and under crowd growing I can't imagine wanting to move to the middle of nowhere.

Living in a true hot n cold New England USA makes me jealous that anyone would consider this extreme. It's sweater n t-shirt weather. I consider hot n cold being 100F in the summer and 0F in the winter.

People who are in highly educated fields but aren't IT adjacent somehow get that idea that computers are not that difficult. Doing IT for doctors and lawyers is usually frustrating.

"life balance" is the most polite way to say I was worked to the bone, got fat and depressed, and the only way out was to outright quit and not work for a few months. Thankfully having some savings allowed me to do so

People have recorded others without their consent for millennia. Whether it's telling a story about what someone said, a photo, or now a screenshot of a twitter post, that is reality. You'll never be able to stop someone from telling another that you said X.

My understanding is their password manager is now fully part of the browser and you can enable it to act as a password manager for other apps as well. I just tested adding an email account and got the option to "unlock firefox" and input credentials
