Donkey Kong is peak jungle music (besides other music types (which is basically all of them)). Sometimes I imagine that when the first jungle evolved, it did so because it anticipated that Donkey Kong will eventually be created. As something inevitable. And so is the ocean, the tundra, pretty much everything. Sounds unlikely? Listen to the Soundtrack und think again. Something so beautiful, so magnificent, it's like the opus magnum of some higher being. Something for us to ponder about, to marvel at. Just like life itself.

That's right down my alley. Donkey Kong series has easily the best soundtrack in video game history. Come at me with your 10 million Call of Doodoo super mega epic orchestra, I don't give a flipping banana. Nothing comes close to the large variety of Donkey Kong tracks. Want something relaxing? I've got you covered. Epic? Sure, got that as well. Want something to get you pumping? Nothing easier than that. The best thing? All of that done on a sound chip that's older than those gamer kids that play Battlefield or some other lame first person shooter. Those games are musically bankrupt. Period.

The only music that has ever given me chills (and still does every time) is the Donkey Kong soundtrack. Listening to it every day and never gets old.

There is this podcast solely about Donkey Kong which I absolutely adore. Everything about this game is magnificent and there is so much stuff you wouldn't know if not for this podcast. For example, did you know that the plot for DK Country 2 is based on real events? It's amazing!

I really love listening to the Donkey Kong soundtrack. It really has something that just relaxes you, or pushes you to the programming limits. It has tracks for every kind of mood. I listen to it on the train or when I travel to work to gain mental focus for the day. In the office, I switch to a different, more upbeat song to create tension. With passing time I switch to Donkey Kong songs with increasing tempo. My hands are literally flying over the keyboard and I am in complete balance with the code. Some of my coworkers say I'm "wired in". I wouldn't disaggre with that.
At some point, when the evening is within grasp, I slowly decrease the tempo of my Donkey Kong songs to calm down step by step. On my way home I switch into chill-song mode again. During the night I let the aquatic ambience of Donkey Kong Country guide my dreams.
Highly recommend it to everyone!

Nice to see that other people love Donkey Kong. Here's what I have to share.
When I study (mostly algorithms and mathy stuff) I listen to this:
https://youtu.be/daOaDBIh9xo
For chilling I prefer this:
https://youtu.be/CKAc3nYEatw
For coding session (where I need to be creative) I listen to this in loop (usually 9-10 times in a row per session (I code a lot, mostly JS (I got a different song for Rust, I feel like for Rust different brain regions need to be activated)))
https://youtu.be/AnEfB1F9BaY
When I travel to work (literally _travel_ to work, I choose working locations far away from my apartment, so I can walk there. The furthest was like 20 miles.)
For this, I listen to this:
