The gulf war (1991) tv broadcasts of cruise missiles 100 feet above the road sure look(ed) a lot like autonomous drones on their way to killed humans to me.

On a personal level, everything Anthropic has done has resulted in a dump truck of money being emptied onto the driveways of its employees. Pavlovian conditioning is incredibly strong when reinforced with generational wealth.

It was a defensive flight deploying defensive missiles and defensive bullets against offensive school children who were threatening other countries by being in their own country. Shooting back is an act of war that must be responded to.

(I would add that this is sarcasm, but it is reality for a lot of people sadly)

I 'member when facebook was campus only. For about 5 minutes my friends were friends.

10 minutes later it was just a frenzy of (trying to) poke people that I thought I might have seen at some point that year, and conversations about how many "friends" people had.
