Developers (even web developers!) were familiar with XML for many years before JSON was invented.

Also "worse is better". Many developer still prefer to use something that is similar to notepad.exe, instead of actual tools that understand the formats on a deeper level.

People have been predicting this for 30 years.

None of the problems in Windows are related to the kernel.

In Fact Windows NT and its display server and compositor, most APIs are fine. In some cases superior to Linux.

Its just that they ship several giant UI turds on top of it, and candy crush copilot apps preinstalled.

I also remember playing it in the late 80s, in an amusement park in my home country of Sweden. Game was already quite old by then, but these things had a long life outside the US.

I specifically remember the gun and the gruesome way the shark dies.

The "C:/Users" folder on Windows used to be "C:/Documents and Settings"

I remember Bill Gates got that to be changed after an e-mail rant he wrote about how bad Windows had become. This was 2002 or so.
