If the employer offers terms you don’t like then don’t work for them.
If you feel inclined you can say “I’m taking a job with an employer who doesn’t pay based on location”.
But there’s really no reason to do the employer the service of telling them.

Slightly off topic but collaborative programming seems to be a big unsolved and ignored problem in programming.
A recent HN discussion on microservices had people saying (paraphrasing) “it’s the only way we can collaboratively build software”.
Programming languages currently seem to be built for programming as a solitary activity. Seems to me that programming languages could be designed with the aim of solving the large scale collaboration problem.

From the lack of comments maybe no one has any idea about WASM, which explains a lot.

I looked around to find the state of the art in WASM demos and they’re around 2-3 years old.
There doesn’t seem to be much development activity or obvious well known WASM projects. People don’t seem to be talking much about how they’re building stuff with WASM.
I thought there might be UI/graphics for building applications. Couldn’t see much.
WASM seems to have gone nowhere.
Why?

You are correct and I agree with you. I have not worked in big projects, only small, so that’s where my beliefs come from.
I feel the problem is a software problem that should be solved by better development tools/languages rather than throwing up hands and pushing the problem into the operations domain.

I like the general idea but frankly this is underwhelming.
Where’s the sense of fun?
Given the origin of the raspberry pi being the old BBC and other home computers it would have been fun to have a solid computer with a full size keyboard reminiscent of the old 8 bit machines like the Acorn or the BBC micro.
The is just a keyboard. And really a missed opportunity to be something unique and fun and exciting.
This is kinda neat but nothing special. I’m not involuntarily reaching for my wallet.
