> evidence of anyi semitic statements and connections to right wing nationalists
Why the "and" there? The anti-semites on the left are of course... of the left.
> There is very little jew hatred on the left
Your head is in the sand. Leftists on the street shouting genocide of the jews ("from the river to the sea") is like a monthly thing. They started before Israel entered Gaza. Before.

I mean.. there are many things more anti-semitic of course. Like the Bondi Beach shooting for example. Or you know... the holocaust.

I mean, you presuppose a genocide. A lie repeated is still a lie though. All wars are not genocides. Just because we now can see the suffering doesn't make it a genocide (and especially not because of all the fake suffering, like the people "freezing to death" in 20 degree celsius, or that pulitzer prize winning photo of a child with an unrelated disease, etc).

You do have to move your focus for sure. Gadgets used to be cool, but now you'd have to look at SpaceX or Stoke for space, and all the crazy ambitious fusion startups, or Quaise. Those are the ones I'm tracking at least..

Well we do know you can't feel pain, because we've actually done the MRI studies to confirm. Which makes me feel a lot better personally.
But I also have a doctor friend who tells me how removing my appendix actually worked: I go under. Then they take out the appendix. Then they wake me so that I can, with help, move from the operating table to the wheeled bed. This part is not a part of my memory, but people can talk to me and I can get down from the table and onto the bed (again, with help).
So I'd say there's some middle ground here.

> Making the verbatim content of the book lost forever is not equivalent to burning them?
The verbatim content are the words, not the paper.
Books are lost all the time because the last book ended up in a landfill. But if an AI lab digitizes it, now it's stored in an extremely redundant storage lake in a datacenter and the company has huge incentives to make sure they don't ever lose that data.

To me, the hate against "destroying books" is kinda silly. The reason we're against destroying books is because the Nazis did it to destroy information.
This situation has absolutely no relation to that. This is the exact opposite, and the only reason this information isn't available publicly and is in risk of getting lost is copyright law.
TLDR: Amazon isn't the nazis in this story, copyright law is.

Well.. it does. There's no checksum in social security numbers for example, that's actually a pretty big deal. The lack of proper buy in on what a personal ID number IS and what it's for is also a huge deal (although not a technical issue, more legal and social for sure).

That seems to not be the reason from the latest data. Insect oxygen transfer basically doesn't scale cleanly with oxygen in the atmosphere like the original hypothesis thought.
What IS true though is that pterosaurs and later birds and bats came onto the scene, and that's just game over for giant dragonflies.
