I've been trying Rails again thanks to Lex and DHH podcast. The official docs are good but have some obvious errors in the code snippets, that were not obvious to me until I asked AI to explain.
Also I was reading the free chapters of the "Ruby on Rails Tutorial" but it still refers and suggests using AWS Cloud 9 which no longer allows new users, since 2024... I emailed the author but they have not replied. At $39 per MONTH it seems a bit much for such an obvious oversight. Seems borderline gauging to me to pay $39 just for the eBook, it is not for sale otherwise AFAIK. And to have the first chapter about getting set up to reference something that has been outdated since July 25th of 2024 does not leave a good impression for me.
https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/devops/how-to-migrate-from-aws-...
I'm not a cheap sob, I will pay for content and books. But when the free content is already out of date... I don't hold much hope for the premium content and chapters at $39mo.

I think it worked out as it was supposed to. Mercedes could have pitted during SC and got fresh tires, they decided not to, thought they had it wrapped up. F1 is a team sport and Mercedes can't stand they made an error.
FIA made two poor decisions, first allowing Hamilton to keep his advantage after he goes off track. Then they allowed the odd restart with SC. To me it evened out.
Of course, Mercedes will appeal, they can't stand to lose. And if they had won, I would expect RedBull to appeal that stupid call at the beginning of the race. Either one deserves the crown.
Congratulations Max!

Well I'm a BackBlaze customer and have been for a year or more. Not sure what else would qualify me to be part of the IPO before it goes public. Also AFAIK there is nothing preventing them from allowing customers to be part of it, but there may be a limiting factor. Some way to narrow the list. I have more than one computer subscribed, that could be part of the filter.

Fidelity is handling the IPO and if you have been a customer of BackBlaze for a while apparently you will get to buy before public, up to 1,000 shares between $15-17 per share. That is my understanding.

I wear hearing aides every day. SMALLER would be better and mine have BT5 and rechargeable. they are NOT cheap about $6k pair with 3 year complete warranty included. Again having options is the best thing, making them larger for me would mean they are more easily dislodged when I bend over to pick something up or are wearing them when working in shop. Having some that have better weather or fully waterproof would be great. I normal take them off when working outside or in the shop. The sweat makes them mostly useless because of the "noise" the sweat makes against the mics. Then the sweat also makes them slick and they will not stay in place. Having options is ideal and affordable options would be great. I don't know why these things are $6k pair when they share a lot of tech with modern in ear options from bose/apple/ect.

is crypto currency gold (asset building) or is it cash (transactional)? some spent $100 on food and some probably didn't know what do to with it and left it alone. if you knew right now that a $1 bill would be effectively worth $100 in 5 years would you use it to buy food? Bitcoin in particular was originally supposed to be a transactional mechanism but along the way it was either too slow or too expensive. Until the price is stable and remains so it will likely remain only something to own and not something to spend.
