The excessive prosperity ended together with the end of the colonization era (there are still a lot of european colonies but they aren't enough to make Europe rich).

Losing access to shamelessly cheap resources naturally and forced customers impoverished Europe and this process is still going. Same thing would be happening with the US thus the aggressiveness now.

Is it still the largest economy? By many numbers, it is not.

The United Kingdom used to be in a similar position and Ireland was like Canada. Nowadays, Ireland does not need to cave in to its neighbor's demands.

A wise person is naturally less anxious. Lots of people are anxious and dislike it so cultivating their inner life could help them with that. Most people prefer to not go that route, it is optional. Nobody is demanding you to grow wise or even that you would be capable of.

But as we grow old, not achieving some things we thought would be easier when we were young can cause frustration. Wisdom helps dealing with that.

because cloning repos and installing dependencies is what developers do daily. 90% of more don't care or even know that doing so they are risking getting hacked.

In theory, you can pretend that the experience of one afluent person in a metro area in the US is enough to make the dystopian situation we are heading to looks fantastic.

In practice, most people are fighting to keep their jobs if they have one, CEOs of corporations are talking daily about AI-driven layoffs and some of them even come to this forum to do exactly the same while talking about how this new era is bright and great. They make money through making other people hopeless and dependent.
