The first billionaire I followed was gates. He did pretty horrible rent extraction to businesses all over the world. See monopoly trials and other similar things that didn’t go to trial.

Uh Claude tries real hard to dodge work. Talks about how it’s really hard 10 PRs. Finally convince it to do as 1. It stops 10% through and says ok done with PR 1, we can work on the last 9 tomorrow. Ugh.

Uber rides were never going to get cheaper over time without robot drivers. A software product is not the same thing. It could get cheaper to serve over time.

Also worst case. If it takes $65 to make one PR? I’m paying $100-$300 for a human to make one PR. There was zero math around the human developer cost saved.

Honestly it may be your memory has internalized you are a student or researcher and grants you more leeway. Which if so is a very bad security rail.

I startup 4 or so projects then go do other things for 4 hours. I don’t have enough energy to steer overnight, but I’m at least “semi afk” for daytime steering. So throughput is king for me, tokens per hour. Not latency or actual tokens per second.

I agree for those of us in the field, we are a lot more confident. But I dont think my retired parents have any idea what AI is or have ever touched anything more complicated than Alexia.

Every school I know of is deep in the Chromebook pot. These are fairly bad computers, Neo would be a big upgrade. But I suspect it would be years for school systems to even evaluate this.

Every other Google model I have tried felt very weak compared to qwen models. I dont have a ton of use case for multimodal though, so its very possible this is a fantastic multimodal model.

My Model Y headlight failed. Bought the ballast for like $125 on eBay. Had to take my dang front of the car apart, but Tesla had a really nice manual online. So it has pros and cons for sure!

I’ve moved in to doing my own plumbing, electric, HVAC. Tend to keep new enough cars that they don’t need much, knock on wood. But it’s not uncommon in “making” $500 an hour or more doing electric or HVAC.
