Last summer/fall, there was a wave of projects to summarize HN articles with GPT.

I’m curious if anybody uses summarization as part of your regular HN browsing, and if you have recommendations for tools.

I use the Hack app on mobile. I’d love a summary button for articles when I don’t understand the headline.

I didn't follow this part:

I think this implies that serializing external data to zson is easier than writing an INSERT into edgedb, but not sure why that would be.

Twice in the last week, I've gotten a sales email from a saas startup shortly after visiting their public site. One was a YC company and the link was from here.

Are they perhaps using a service that offers unique emails for anonymous website visitors, from third party cookies?

The problem is they all magically arrived at an exorbitant price that seems to reflect monopoly pricing. Also fees have standardized recently.

Yes there is rampant ESA abuse, but note the airlines all charge $175 each way for a pet. Isn’t that obvious collusion?

It’s $350 to take my small dog to LA for the weekend when the round trip ticket for a human is $100. She is great on planes and has never had even a minor incident.

We just raised pre-seed via a convertible note. Two founders are the only shareholders, and we want to pay ourselves a small amount.

We can save overhead and get better tax treatment if we issue dividends instead of taking a salary via payroll. Any reason not to do this?

Not seeking legal advice - we will talk to our lawyer. Question is whether this is discouraged in the HN community for any reason, i.e. would complicate future fundraising.
