<p>SCRUM is toxic. It is toxic because it dis-empowers the developers who are doing the actual work and hands that power over to the "SCRUM master". The SCRUM master is the ultimate bureaucrat -- and a proxy for Management -- in a heavily bureaucratic methodology. The job of the SCRUM master is to guard and protect the SCRUM process. Often to the detriment of the developers and ultimately the project.</p>
