One thing that’s different today is authentication options. Modern APIs (eg WebAuthn), Oauth, passkeys, WebID… Also password managers were not as ubiquitous as they are today.
I think there’s the potential to make using many different sites a lot more frictionless nowadays.
Maybe the only missing part would be an aggregator to keep track of the different communities.

I created this because I like word games like that but my friend group is quite multilingual and most are not native English speakers.

Oh the poor people who try to learn German by reading Kafka.
I'm not sure literature in general is suitable for learning a language that you don't already have a tight grip on. Maybe children's books, but even then it's too far removed from spoken language for some languages.

It's certainly interesting in theory. But in practice, how do you distinguish between a bookshop, library, office and desk when all of those things can be referred to by "maktab"?
And does inferring / generating words this way actually work? For example, can I say "makra" (مقرأ) for "Library", a place where you read? Based on the verb "yakra" (read).

To be fair the native iOS development with Xcode (10) isn't much better. My builds unpredictably fail for no reason at least once a day. Sometimes I have to build three times before all errors disappear, without touching any code or project files at all, mind you.
But at least Xcode doesn't crash any more.

We use the desktop client and our group often has problems with words being dropped not only at the end but also in the middle of someone talking if they're using voice activation. :-/
It's usually specific users whose words get dropped, maybe their activation threshold is just low enough. But still, seems to me like this should not happen, especially in the middle of sentences, since the beginning of the sentence is recorded just fine.
(Windows 10 Pro)

Personally I'm extremely happy with the vim plugin in Jetbrains IDEs like IDEA, Rider and so on. It gives me the best of both worlds. I can use vim commands for effective navigation but also have the great static code analysis, smart auto completion, project navigation (find symbol, class, file, ...) etc. of the IDE.

There are programs with shorter rest times between sets, e.g. German Volume Training (60 to 90 secs). And you can do dumbell bench press without a spotter.
But I totally agree, more "practical" excercise like bouldering is much more fun.

Wrt acquired taste: I used to hate the taste of cilantro, but kind of came across it alot because of Vietnamese friends. After some time I slowly began getting used to it and now I actually love the taste. It's so refreshing and really spices up many dishes making them much more interesting. Point being I think just because you don't like something initially it isn't inherently bad and you could be missing out. :-D
