I can’t agree more! It feels really smooth to drive, kind of buttery compared to other frontier experiences, at least in antigravity 2.0 or whatever. I’ve been doing some web app coding with it and I’m happy with the results.

I think it's more than just poorly trained agents. Also framing it as "a gun goes off" doesn't track with the video footage I saw.

Especially having ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini available nowadays. It’s a godsend when troubleshooting any Linux issues, and you can learn so much in the process.

I just upgraded my PC’s motherboard, CPU, memory, and video card and used Claude as a build buddy to help me lay out steps to follow. I also used it after installing CachyOS for the second time, but on this new hardware. It had me double checking to make sure I had all the proper drivers set up by running commands, but everything was already setup correctly by CachyOS. It even helped me figure out that I had a fan wire half plugged in, which was causing a fan not to throttle. I would alternate between Claude Sonnet 4.5 and ChatGPT 5.2. But it’s so much easier and quicker than the old days of sifting through the manuals and forums, if you could get online to a forum that is.

I installed CachyOS (KDE) about 2 years ago and I’m obsessed with it, it’s so satisfying to tinker with. I also game on it every day. Recently invested in a AMD GPU just because it has a better driver story in Linux. I can’t imagine going back to Windows.

Edit: Shout out to SteamOS for getting Linux to where it is for gaming, incredible.

This and DATETIME. The workarounds for these are mostly fine if you’re just using SQLite as a key value store, but doing translations in SQL queries for these workarounds sounds atrocious.

I 100% agree. It’s always disheartening to see how different the spread is between the popular vote and electoral vote.

It’s such a sham and we should move to ranked choice voting, but sadly I don’t think it’ll ever happen with the current political layout.

I love Gleam's syntax and types but one thing keeping me for jumping in is that it has some limitations regarding it's OTP integration. Which, to me, is one of the most exciting parts of Elixir or Erlang.

Being a C# developer, I absolutely love the syntax. I also like the Universal Function Call Syntax for it's fluency, kind of like pipes in elixir or F#.

I'm still going through the guide but one thing I find curious is the module naming when building your application. It seems like you clone a library to disk and then "import" it as a command line argument with the name you choose. I'm trying to wrap my head around how dependencies would work if you have the following situation:

  - parse library
  - http library (requires parse) -> import parse=~/parse/src
  - my_app (requires parse and http) -> import http=~/http/src parse_with_different_name=~/parse/src

Note how my_app uses a different name for the parse library than http.

If the http library uses "parse" in the source code when referencing the module (import parse) and my application uses "parse_with_different_name" when referencing the module (import parse_with_different_name), does that mean to compile my app I would have the following...

  valec build mymodule=~/my_app.vale parse=~/parse/src http=~/http/src parse_with_different_name=~/parse/src

Maybe I'm missing something and maybe it's too early to worry about things like this. Regardless I am loving this language and very excited about it.
