Np, 2 years is harder for me to tell. We need to get more of that data public and organized, and are looking at how we can do that...
We are working on some big improvements to the backend and should have some cool stuff to share later this year :)

Honestly, downtime has gotten way better as one of the people behind (https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com). Compared to 10 years ago things are so much more redundant and harder to take down.

The site is BookDNA.com, and I finally had to block their ASN as the server was crashing.
Does anyone have contacts for someone there who can help?
Their bots do not seem to respect our robots.txt file. They are hammering two specific pages that robots.txt makes off-limits to bots, and the majority of hits are on those two pages.
/bookshelf/action/book-dna
and
/bookshelf/historical-romance/book-dna
Fun fact: In the last 12 hours, Facebook's bot volume is 12x Microsoft, 19x Apple, and 20x Google.

I think if you dig into it and play with it, you will find that it is doing some really cool stuff. I started playing with it a few weeks ago, and I am having a blast messing around with it. Hoping to hook it up to a robot kit next month to try some fun stuff.
Are some people using it in absolutely shitty ways? Yes, but that isn't the majority of the people playing with it.
The negativity I am seeing here is off the charts and undserved.

I'm blown away by the comments. This is a cool project someone created with clear warnings about its current state (beta), and the community is being utterly disrespectful. They are building something that many people find useful/fascinating/intriguing/fun.
Come on HN.

I agree with you, but I don't see these things as possible. Maybe the D party will enact campaign finance rules if they got a super majority. Given gerrymandering I'm not sure that is ever possible though.

It will have to get a lot of worse in order to get better. Voters have to be in a lot more pain to give the non-crazy party control to actually fix fundamental problems.
Note: I'm an independent, but the current administration is incompetent on an embarrassing level.

Hah, I read that as well and made a big "hmmmmmmmmm" sound...
The last time I talked to someone about OpenClaw and how it is helping them, they told me it tells them what their calendar has for them today or auto-tweets for them (i.e., non-human spam). The first is as simple as checking your calendar, and the second is blatant spam.
Anyone found some good use cases beyond a better interface for AI code assistance?

I've got two going :)
https://shepherd.com/
Building a really unique book recommendation platform to help readers find books they might not otherwise know about. We just started working on a full book app that will be a private book diary, along with recommendations and insights based on your Book DNA. Think Goodreads, but rebuilt for readers who want a private space to track what they read, keep notes, and get truly personalized book recommendations (like Pandora or Spotify for books).
https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
This is a fun one I do with a good friend. Basically, to see if a website is down, or if it is just you, along with reported reasons from the community. We are working to add user accounts so you can create your own custom lists of websites/services to track
