At the time, I had a gutt feeling that all of the stories I read on internal threads and that the loudest voices, largely came from women in non-engineering/product roles, and this article (+book) has somewhat confirmed that for me. Even Sergei cheated on his wife with a woman in marketing in 2013.

Since the majority of Google is engineers, I believe Claire's movement ultimately failed because most of the company (again, engineers), looked to their peers and didn't see any of the systemic issues the movement espoused.

My favorite aspect of it is that I can remove all text and see 95% of the wall paper at all times.

This project came out of combining a few of my hobbies: craps, mobile development, vibe coding, and coding directly from my phone.

I built the entire app using only: Termux on Android, exe.dev as a remote VM, Claude Code as my only assistant

I chose Flutter for cross-platform support so the same code could run on Android and iOS.

I started off by writing tests for the core game engine, then switched to a simple loop: play the game, notice what’s missing, add a feature.

In the spirit of “build for one user,” I only implemented the craps mechanics that I personally use when I play in real life.

In US primary school (an industry I've never worked in), this might be close to something like teacher, curriculum planner, assistant principal, principal, district supervisor, etc.

As you progress further in your field and hone your skills and knowledge, the scope and impact of your responsibilities should grow.

I get baited into reading these posts and comments every day - why can't I stop? Probably for the same reason these posts and comments get up votes.

So previously, some 20% of all revenue would be owned as corporate income tax, and startups would deduct it all as they're spending much more on R&D than they owe in corporate income tax. But with this tax change, the deduction would be much lower (80% lower IIUC).
