As someone who has worked with gitlab for the last 5 years, i find it amazing how over complicated the github flow it for CICD! Spin up a server and add the gitlab agent and done! You need more? Fine spin up a EKS k8 cluster and done!

First of all, the servers i run this on sits in the EU. While the Cloud Act can and would effect this that is not the concern from corporate.
If we as a company allow the data to be copied to other regions outside the EU then WE are not compliant with the rules and can be punished for it. That is what corporate is worried about. Just like we have a deal with OpenAI, but no documentation etc is allowed to be shared and that is being monitored by our SIEM platforms.

Except they are an American corpo and there is no guarantee that the data will stay on EU servers, so that is a giant NO at the moment. This was the main reason to stick with Bedrock, as it supposedly stays within your aws account on the EU servers. Now? Whats the points in using Bedrock anymore apart from paying more.

I mean, all the competitors need to do is to have a big context window and minimal guardrails and magic, the AI can now hack your server!

No, we are unhappy because there is no guarantee that my corporate documents wont be shared or trained on. We are already paying plus for using bedrock instead of the API version from Anthropic, so now there is no reason to use bedrock anymore. This whole thing about this model being too powerful to share is just the usual BS. Is an advanced model that dont have guardrails, just like the models that have been shared with the US government for years.

Exactly, at that point it shares need to be taxed. SpaceX is valued at ~$1T Dollars and you own 60% of the shares? OK now you are paying taxes on those 60% every year, not on the income it generates, but on the value of what you own.
Same for land - Anything above X size or # of properties gets taxed at 50% the land value each year.
Now would this happen? Who knows, and also it will have other effects, like devaluing the stockmarket as no one want to pay taxes on billions worth of stocks.

Why event a year for a NDA? 1 month after leaving the company should be max. They are Meta, who cares what BS they are building to destroy peoples life's. There is no reason to keep these things secret. This is not MI6 or the CIA, its a massive corporation, they should not have any such rights.

Yes? Take the side of the person getting railroaded by a giant corporation, a bunch of corrupt cops, and a legal system that is built to protect the big, and milk the poor.
Whats the other side in this? Feel bad for the 400 million corp with their army of lawyers? Feel bad for the store owners who scammed the person and acted like a total dick? Honestly, whats your take on this?

I have worked for enterprise companies all my life, they are all a horrible mess of people trying to play 4d chess to get a promotion and look good. They do offer better life / work balance, so if you are not a workaholic like the startup / SF crowd, then its actually a decent job. Just remember to enjoy the life outside the office, with people that are not from the office and you will be fine.

I have found that it uses a lot more tokens if I give it a very detailed todo and loop over every task 1 by 1. I now keep it to phases with detailed tasks underneath and use /loop over the phases and it uses a lot less. I also manage the context windows and tend to clear it often to keep it under around 200k (or less depending on project size)

Depends, I'm building a markdown down editor that just previews in the web ui. However, I can use the web ui to do tasks like uploading files, view git commits etc. Different interfaces for different purposes. The CLI gives me focused mode, and then visual stuff that steal my time goes in the web
