I'll share my experience.
I've never been a developer. Dabbled in frontend web for a bit (HTML/CSS/JS, no large frameworks) and felt like if I really dedicated some time to learning how to code, I'd be pretty decent at it. It's always intrigued me, and I've always had an itch to build things, but just never found the time. I'm in marketing now - I own an agency.
Over the last 6 months since the coding models really began to step up and get good, I've built several dedicated apps to support my business:
-Profitability optimizer and forecaster based on unit economics and current ad efficiency.
-Creative strategy tool that ingests brand and product data and helps explore primary and secondary personas and emotional motivators.
-Reporting tool that processes natural language queries and connects to multiple data sources to fetch results. Can schedule reports to post directly to Slack or email.
All robust and hosted on Railway. Team members can use them. Clients can use them. OAuth via Google.
Would any of this have been possible for me before the rise of frontier LLMs? Absolutely not. Learning the frameworks alone would have taken me longer than it's taken to just... build. Rapidly build and deploy. Total game changer for me.
Oh - and I'm building a game on the side. LLMs know Godot.

Like many others, I recently dove head-first into trying Linux as Windows 10 is no longer officially supported, and I really don't like a lot of design changes in Windows 11.
So I went and installed Fedora, and for the most part, everything's working great.
I use my machine for both work and gaming, and there are really two deal breakers right now on the work side:
1. Most of my work is web-based, and it's really surprising that this is an issue, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get Chrome to use autoscroll on mouse middle click. In Firefox it's just there as an option, and worked great. The LLMs suggested adding a flag to the launch options (which was an additional layer of complexity because of flatpacks) but that doesn't actually work if you're using Wayland.
2. Google Drive. No native app. Was able to mount my drive with RClone, which works, but at the core of my workflow on Windows is using the Everything app (on hotkey) to quickly search my Drive files immediately as I type. I can't seem to get KRunner to index my Drive files. I add the folder path to the indexer, but it's not surfacing any results in there.
Gaming works great though.

I'm sure there's some bias since it's coming from the horse's mouth, but Google does publish this stuff. Their webmaster guidelines have said for years to make content for users, not robots, and some recent updates have specifically addressed some of the AI SEO spam that's flooding the internet[1]. Their site speed tools and guidelines give very specific recommendations on how to minimize the performance impact of javascript[2].
[1] https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/creat...
[2] https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/v5/about

I've done some CTA wording tests for a client selling event tickets. We tried "Buy Now" vs "Find Tickets" - "Find Tickets" gave us a huge lift in revenue (not just clickthroughs), probably because the language was less committal and was more successful in driving traffic down the funnel. /anecdote

For what it's worth, my current laptop is a 2007 Lenovo ThinkPad T60 that still runs perfectly. I've never had any problems with it, and I only upgraded the hard drive a few years back because I wanted more space. The extended battery gets about 8 hours, no spare needed. I can even play Dota 2 on it.

FWIW, I love VWO and have used it for a few years as my primary A/B testing tool. I've emailed Paras a few times about small questions and feature requests, and he's always responded quickly - that speaks volumes about their focus on customer happiness (the support team is great too).
Thanks for the fantastic tool, Paras! Keep on doing great things!
