even chrome browser plugins have security issues similar to this case. there are billions of dollars and many smart developers working on it. It's similar to building an app store inside your app. For the Apple app store, they reduce malicious apps by being very strict who/what people can publish and it's behind a paywall.

You are safe. The way this hack works is that someone online would contact you, share a obsidian valut with you, you open the vault, you download & install a plugin the hacker tells you to install to open the vault. It's all described in the article if you would like to read it.

So many issues with Rekordbox and their vendor lock-in. I can't even reliably export songs on a flash drive and have it showing up in their CDJ. It's honestly time to take the Pioneer giant down.

if quantum computing cracked encryption, everything secured on the internet would be in trouble, not just btc

every 4 years there is a halving event where the btc reward is cut in half. Eventually all btc will be mined and the only role of miners will be to process transactions and they get to keep the fees. that will be the incentive

i agree, Ethereum might be the better approach.

i'm not too concerned about the electricity usage in the long term. for btc it will be less and less profitable for miners to operate consuming large amounts of energy. as the price plateaus and mining rewards decrease, energy consumption should also plateau. that is if energy price stays the same and doesn't become cheaper.

Don't use font icons, I use svg icons with and works great. Much easier to customize when you need to in my opinion.

For me I could still smell strong laundry detergent very faintly. But the sense of smell appeared to be completely gone as if my olfactory nerve had been snipped.

I had COVID-19 and lost almost all smell senses (no symptoms of a stuffy nose or mucus). I could still taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour, umami. But I could not tell you where those tastes came from. It was difficult to cook in that time, and food was very bland and meaningless. Lasted for about a week.

I could smell laundry detergent very faintly so I know I had not completely lost the sense. I also felt a pain in the back of my nose/top of head as if I had water go up it, so I assume something was irritating that part of my nose. A dry cough has started to take place only after the fever stopped and I noticed my breathing is a bit harder than before the virus took over.

I had the virus. This happened to me. The loss of smell and taste is as if someone completely cut off that function from your body. No stuffy nose during the illness, pre, during or post. It started coming back after about a week.

Same. I noticed some words use the letter "g" in place of "h" like in the word "another" -> "drugy" -> in Czech "druhý", otherwise it is very similar to Czech.

My understanding is that the OS is a few gigs in size and uses a lot of memory, and neves compiles to about 20 megabytes while still being resilient and easy to update.

Once you have some cryptocurrency in your wallet, you don't go to the exchanges to do transactions. All transactions on the blockchain are done in a decentralised way without a 3rd party.
