Once you switch to another model (I've been playing with Grok, for example), you'll notice the mental overhead of reading Claude slop. It's like having an AC or a vacuum making noise in the background, then it stops and you feel relief.

I think it comes down to the healthcare trilemma: cost, access, and quality (or "cutting-edge-ness"); the US optimizes for quality and access, while countries with universal healthcare optimize for access and cost. You can only pick two.

Please add Fable; a good benchmark should show that Fable is less prone to just autocomplete and instead pushes back or is at least more tasteful.

Benchmarks don't reflect the difference between Opus and Fable; you need to talk to them, and eventually you'll be able to tell which one is which without looking.

I think the best proxy for this feeling is the Artificial Analysis' omniscience index. Fable has a 40 score, and Opus (4.8) has 27.

I recommend people do mini "evals" from time to time, ask the same question to different models, and eventually you'll arrive at the conclusion that there is nothing like Fable.
