Hi HN, there is something that's been bugging me for some time. I choose to follow specific people on social media because I want to see their posts but at the end of the day, an ever-changing algorithm decides what I see. I get the feeling of being pushed into things rather than pulling in the things I want.

The solution I came up with is a new social media format to stay up to date: a chronological, continuous queue for each person you follow where it continues from where you left off. This means that as a creator, you get a direct channel to your followers, and as a follower, you can stay in touch with specific people, ideas, and interests on your own terms without letting some algorithm get in the way.

I lift weight 3 times a week an hour each day. Look into Starting Strength, 5x5, or any simple programs that focus on progressive overloading. I got to 405 lbs squat and deadlift at 170 lbs bodyweight this way. Measure your progress similar to how you measure your metrics in a startup

I keep long blog posts that I converted into epub in another account so that I'm less likely to hit the limits.

For those who haven't tried, Google Play Books is really good. It's free, cross-platform (plus web), you can upload epub, and syncs annotations across devices.

I switched from jailbroken Kindle to android e-ink device 3 years ago and I haven't looked back. It's the perfect combo.

Tip: Use Calibre to organize/backup your books and convert to epub

I've been using it for a couple of years. One problem I have is that the idle cpu usage goes up to 10-20% after a while on my Mac. Drops back to ~1% after restarting the app

One of my all time favorite apps got an update and I just wanted to share it with the community. I've been using it for 8 years and logged 1152 workouts as of today.

Just a heads up, it's only available on Android.
