Got a cheap Acer Win11 machine for like $500 last year. I don’t think they even know what the low-end market is like, it is all about getting the most RAM/storage while everything else is reasonable and cheap enough. In which it is really hard to make a profit there because the price is the most important thing

I hate the stigma and laws against gambling. They don’t stop gambling, they create a higher barrier of entry leading to monopoly, and gamblers are paying more because lack of competition

Because mass unemployment is a bad thing, and the costs are lowered so people can actually survive on lower wages. Meanwhile young people in the West cannot even get a minimum wage job at McDonald’s

It is almost like the current system favours cheaters spamming fake CVs while most real people do have imperfections (eg gaps in employment)

A lot of fake positions. It is not even from the company, just recruiters recycling old job postings. I know it is fake because I’m in the company and the project is long dead.

The difference is that a teacher is on government payroll, while politicians, at least those in the Congress are not.

And when I was a teacher that was strict guidelines on what gifts you can receive. Usually under a certain limit it’s fine. If it is too expensive you have to report it.

I wonder whether an express bus model would work. Frequently bus stops at regions A and B, while no bus stops in between (let’s say A is the city center and B is a large residential area and they are 5-10 miles away)

On the other hand, in Hong Kong it would be straight to jail. Someone was sent a link by the airlines, he changed a couple of characters and it ended up showing another person’s data. The guy voluntarily reported the vulnerability and all he got was a criminal charge and found guilty

People walk when they don’t make money. You don’t look at Silicon Valley for these types of things. You look at a deprived forgotten town that could had survived were they not squeezed so much
