This has not been my experience at all with gpt sol on ultra/max. Some concurrent code is just really really hard to write and even in those cases LLMs can help, the barrier for extensive thorough testing and writing your own custom simulator, liveness and correctness tests is simply so much lower now.

Do you think diffusion models or models that generate video and image are conscious? I'd say most people who think LLMs are conscious don't think the same way about non-chattng models ( unless you ask them then they might say "sure" in an attempt to remain consistent).
My point is it's the interaction medium that's causing the confusion and causinf this psychosis that's tricking people into feeling like they're talking to someone.
LLMs are not conscious, sams as google chrome, same as GTA 5, same as your latest python script.

nah. I have no horse in this race in fact before this blog I had high regards for andrew and zig, less-so after this blog.
You're accusing me of cherry picking, can you explain how these are cherry picked ? do you even know what cherry picking means ? maybe explain the important context for "Jarred was already writing slop well before he had access to LLMs" that I omitted apparently.

> Incredible the different takeaways people get from text content on the internet
It is incredible isn't it.
"Jarred was already writing slop well before he had access to LLMs"
"The grapevine was large and healthy and full of juicy grapes, and all those grapes contained the juice of the same message: Jarred was a stinky manager. Poor communication, unrealistic expectations, low empathy, no experience. Just a total shit show, from an employment perspective."
"at some point they would sell out (let's be honest, their vague "sell some cloud something" business plan was a farce from the get-go"
"he was essentially groomed from a young age into uncritically embracing the Silicon Valley mindset"
There is more but I'll stop quoting to not end up copying the whole thing.

We've read the andrew blog. It is a personal attack a very petty one, you're clearly a biased fan of his and of zig probably if you cannot see the obvious, but we're telling you as outsiders how poorly it reflects on andrew and the future of zig, and this is coming from someone who originally had a very good opinion of zig and andrew, now not so much.
You can choose to ignore that and engage in the massive circlejerk zig fans are engaging in during this or maybe take a second and reconsider

Sure, technically you are correct, i cant prove that im not a schizophrenic hallucinating everything including 2+2=4 and including this discussion. But starting from a reasonable point of beliefs that we accept it is fair to say 2+2=4 will just hold universally when counting discrete things.

I actually find your argument to be the lazy and reductive one, and im surprised how many folks just parrot it confidently.
This is clearly not like any other tool, what it can do, and more importantly the range of what it can mimic and pretend to do to a highly plausible degree is something humanity did not witness anything close to, ever.
The closest thing i can think of is high speed internet porn and its impact on generations that grew up addicted to it. I can only imagine what AI porn will do to the upcoming generations, and more generally what AI will do to their cognition

I mean yeah... You kind of have to learn this stuff (performance engineering) by yourself (a strong education background helps a lot of course). There are transferable parts of it and there are platform-specific parts where you need to be somewhat familiar with GPUs.
