<p>Amplify Renewables | Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform | REMOTE (US; SF or Seattle a plus) | Full-Time | $150k - $250k (all cash) | <a href="https://amplifyrenewables.com" rel="nofollow">https://amplifyrenewables.com</a><p><pre><code> We're a systematic energy forecasting and trading company working to make the grid more predictable and reliable. We ingest a lot of messy, heterogeneous data (market, generator, weather, outage) and build models to forecast it. You would work closely together with the founders and take over the technical direction for our data systems end-to-end. Team is ex-D.E. Shaw, Optiver, and Stanford. We're bootstrapped, profitable, and growing. Compensation is all-cash and paid from company profits, not venture funding.

  What we're looking for:
  - 4+ years shipping and maintaining software
  - Strong Python skills (writing, maintaining, packaging)
  - Experience with multiprocessed and HPC workloads
  - Crisp written communication — we're deep-work focused and async-heavy

Nice to have: data lake / Parquet architectures, Rust (esp. PyO3 extensions)

Remote-first. We meet in person multiple times a year. Non-US candidates welcome if you can overlap 4+ hours with PST.

Apply: email hiring@amplifyrenewables.com with resume + an (optional) short note on a data platform problem you've owned. Please mention HN.

Search terms: data platform, data engineering, Python, Rust, Parquet, HPC, energy, power markets, ISO, forecasting, trading, Polars</code></pre></p>
