The ads are less intrusive than paid subscriptions from the providers IMO. Not a fan of the double-dip either though.

Use the share menu and select the News app and it’ll open the story in it. Not as easy as those app banners but still not too difficult.

That’s fun!
Couple of things I would suggest:
Maybe get rid of 1-2 character words in the word counter? Seems easy for it to hit things like i or ie etc. I would love to see a counter that ignores those at least
Also the report card section on the Shakespeare progress panel wasn’t scrollable on iOS.
Neat either way!

Aqua mode really feels like walking through water. It has that same level of resistance on your legs.
I don't believe a weighted vest provides that same feel, but I'm not entirely sure how they differ either.

There was another brand that went through Kickstarter recently:
https://dnsys.ai/
I have one of their units. It definitely assists with hiking in the standard modes and the "aqua mode" on the device does increase resistance. As an able-bodied person who hikes for sport, I don't tend to use it much. Though I sometimes throw it on with aqua mode for some added resistance for smaller hikes.

Throwing another vote out there for Supernote. Very responsive, particularly around handwriting - which feels flawless. Been a perfect device for me, but more limited than a Boox. That’s fine for my use-case, but still worth calling out.

The camera is one of the most important features for me. I had (and returned) a pair of INMO Air2's primarily because of the poor camera quality. Waiting to see how the TCL RayNeo X2 performs (was supposed to ship in December, still waiting) but may just cancel those and wait for the next generation to release, which was just announced at CES.
I love the notifications and the other stuff as well (mapping, translations... Even streaming YouTube through them while I exercise) but my primary driver for these was to have a rapidly accessible camera. I found great success with the Humane AI Pin primarily for this feature.
FYI there are some other options available today for glasses without cameras (Vuzix has some, as well as some announced at CES) and/or with simpler screens... As well as some with screens in the frame (like Halliday) if the rainbow effect gets to you.

Because? I subscribe to WSJ - so I can read this just fine. I don’t see why you can’t as well if you find the content interesting. It’s the same with academic journals, people are just sharing what’s interesting and that just so happens to be behind a paywall.
If you remove all paid content you would just have blogs left eventually… And all they’re doing is just paying for the content and regurgitating it.

There's no real argument here. Your phone is a perfectly good clock, but the watch wearables are neat too. Same with these types of devices.

It's a wearable like a watch, whose main purpose is to be a digital assistant using server-side AI. It has its own plan so it's always connected. The things I've liked that you can do with it are like:
* Take a photo/video with a couple taps
* Have it "see" the area in front of you and give you insight - e.g. "Look at the desk in front of me, find all the items on it and put it into a note titled 'My Messy Desk'"
* Find information for you and do stuff with it - get me the number for X and dial it. Or get me the number for X and add it to a contact labeled Y
* Play me classic rock songs that feature "sunshine" as the main theme
* Add to my X log, at the current date and time that Y occurred
* Find me 25 songs that match X and put them into a note in X order
* Find me places where I can buy soda at that are open at the moment nearby
* Review my X log, remove any entries where Y occurred and replace them with Z
* How long is the second movie of the one about the desert, and what's it named?
Imagine if your digital assistant didn't suck, but then scale back your ambitions a bit because it's early lol. It's neat. Could you replicate it in order ways that aren't a wearable? Sure. But it's a decent assistant, nice always-accessible camera, speaker for music, wearable for texts/calls/whatever and I like the location it sits at.
Since it's so friction-less, it's easier to be curious IMO.
