StoryMotion is a tool for creating hand-drawn animated explainer videos, diagrams, and step by step explanation animation.
Improve communication for technical documentation/blog post, presentations, educational videos, and social media.
Try it yourself: https://storymotion.video/editor
Any feedback is more than welcome. I would love to hear your thoughts.
---
A bit of a story:
It's all start with my technical/programming blog where I need some tool for making step-by-step explanation (like slides) that I can easily embed to explain concepts on my website.
(and as you can guess, I'm a big fans of Excalidraw and Keynote so I hack things together and made a tool called Inscribed [1])
As I later expanded into video, I decided to fork the project and create another tool which focus solely on making animation which now become StoryMotion.
How to use:
1. Sketch anything with Excalidraw canvas
2. Select an elements and assign effects, adjust the timing.
3. Export as mp4, webm, GIF (or you can embed it as an iframe on your blog posts or documentation.)
Note: We also also launch "AI Agent" feature which help speed up visual creation and "Magic Animate" feature which automatically choose and assign motion effect for the visual elements on the editor canvas.
AI agent demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQNvEBybQlI
Magic animate demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1fTk19a_6Y
---
[1] https://github.com/chunrapeepat/inscribed

I'm working on https://storymotion.video/
a tool for creating hand-drawn animated diagrams for educational creators or technical writer.
- You can export it as video (4k, 60fps)
- Do some presentation.
- or embed as iframe on to the blog posts or technical docs.
It's combined the experiences of Keynote and Excalidraw, both software I was enjoy using!

StoryMotion, a hand-drawn motion graphics editor for educational content creators.
---
5 months ago, I launched Inscribed.app [1], a tool based on Excalidraw for making step-by-step explanation (like slides) that I can easily embed to explain concepts on my blog.
[1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43078555
as I later expanded into video, I decided to fork the project and create another tool which focus solely on making animation.
---
Key features:
- Keynote-liked interfaces with Excalidraw canvas
- effects animation library
- scene transition animation -- fun fact: you can also do “Magic Move” like you can do on Keynote :)
- timeline editor for editing effects timing (with live preview)
- use any fonts from Google Fonts
---
Try it yourself: https://storymotion.video/editor
I hope you like it. any feedback is appreciated.

five months ago, I launched Inscribed.app [1], a tool based on Excalidraw for making step-by-step explanatory sketches (like slides) that I can easily embed to explain concepts on my blog.
as I later expanded into video, I found myself returning to Excalidraw, hacking things together to make motion graphics. so I've decided to spin off a new project focused specifically on this called StoryMotion.
try it yourself: https://storymotion.video
---
with StoryMotion, you can:
1. sketch things out quickly using an Excalidraw with additional features like multi-scenes, Google Fonts integration, and keyboard shortcuts.
2. assign animated effects to any element on the canvas, which you can later edit the timing of in the effects timeline editor.
3. export the video to edit further in professional video editing software like Final Cut Pro.
---
think of it as: “Keynote, but for creating motion graphics.”
my plan is to add more animated effects, scene transitions like Keynote's Magic Move, AI voiceover, and polish the UX of both the main Excalidraw canvas and the timeline editor.
my target audience is anyone who makes educational videos, but if you find this useful for something else, please let me know.
any feedback is welcome and appreciated :)
---
[1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43078555

no licensing issues. Excalidraw is published under MIT license. if my project keeps developing, we can contribute some parts back to Excalidraw. this is a win-win.

Inscribed.app, a slide-based tool for creating stop motions animation and slides.
I've been writing a lot of tech content lately and needed a way to create a stop motion to visualize ideas for my blog.
I'm a big fan of Excalidraw and Apple Keynote, so this tool is an attempt to combine the UX of the two together. Sketch like Excalidraw with a slide making interface (with shortcuts) like Apple Keynote.
Features:
- keyboard shortcuts: copy/paste/del, up/down navigation
- adjust document size
- drag and drop images
- google fonts integration
- presentation mode
- export as GIF, or as iframe to embed everywhere you want.
Try it yourself: https://inscribed.app
Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEXE8-6yEzw
Github: https://github.com/chunrapeepat/inscribed
Hope you like it. any feedback is welcome.
