It's a very complex questions that has been explored many times in the literature already. Your atom-for-atom clone would have the same drive for survival and agency than you have, it might not enjoy the idea of being smoldered to bits after cleaning the attic, hell maybe it might prefer murdering you and taking your place...
Even not going so far as creating a clone, apparently if you torture an AI model running on silicon like this guy did: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49906892, the general verdict has already dropped, yes people find it immoral.

Exactly, I was about to mention George Perec, one of its members, who wrote novels under very hard constraints such as "La disparition", a whole readable novel without the letter "e", which is as hard as or harder than an English speaker would expect. He also wrote "Les Revenentes", which is a novel only using words with no other vowel than "e" (and some liberties he had to take with the language to make that work).
Interestingly, the novel with no "e" was actually translated into English multiple times (most famous one is called 'A Void'), proof that constrained writing is something quite a few people seem to enjoy.

> There are people who shipped “slop” before AI.
The funny thing is that "slop" was defined by the writing habits of AI model, which we have learned to pick upon and recognize.
The "It's not X, it's Y", the rhetorical questions and other patterns would have been the tools of a skilled writer, and those people writing "like AI" before AI most likely would have been recognized as such.

FYI, besides the obvious shilling, you’re being downvoted because Fabien Sanglard has been writing this kind of deep software RE analysis for the last 15 years, is one of the most knowledgeable people in the world on classic game-engine internals, and certainly did not involve AI in doing any of this.

I find the Sunshine clients to be much better. You can set them up with much more granularity than Steam client, which can help a lot depending on the type of game you want to play. You also have a variety of clients not just Moonlight, for ex, on iPad I can recommend VoidLink which is really well made and handle touch events beautifully, turning the iPad into an actual MS Surface with multi-touch support when streaming Windows.
I actually have an interesting setup to play Civ 4 with the family (best civ game, change my mind): the games are running on virtual machines on a headless servers and we play on iPads using the native touch controls. It's really nice user experience and I was surprised it worked so well on such an old game.

It actually happened with Toyota around 2010: they went into a settlement regarding an unintended acceleration issue because it was proven the code was terrible and a single bit-flip could cause the behaviour.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009%E2%80%932011_Toyota_vehic...

I don't think Yamaha Motor is producing any large trucks. They do a lot of things but mostly motorcycles, atv, boat engine, even car engines but not the whole car.
Also, you should note that Yamaha Corporation, the musical instrument maker and Yamaha Motor are now 2 distinct independent companies, even if were originally part of the same group.

Dedicated servers on a host like Hetzer and OVH surely beats any virtualization based cloud offering on price and performance. The tradeoff is availability. It's a great choice for entities that are optimizing on cost, but not a great choice if your business cannot tolerate downtime.
A good example is a the big lichess outage from last year [1]. Lichess is a non-profit, and also must serve a huge user base. Given their financials, they have to go the cheap dedicated server route (they host on OVH). They publish an Excel sheet somewhere with every resources they use to run the services and last year, I had fun calculating how much it would cost them if they were using an hyperscaler cloud offering instead. I don't remember exactly but it was 5 or 6x the price they currently pay OVH.
The downside, is that when you have an outage, your stuff is tied to physical servers and they can't easily be migrated, when cloud provider on the opposite can easily move around your workload. In the case of Lichess outage, it was some network device they had no control of that went bad, and lichess was down until OVH could fix it, that is many hours.
So, yes you get a great deal, but for a lot of businesses, uptime is more important than cost optimization and the physicality of dedicated servers is actually a serious liability.
[1]: https://lichess.org/@/Lichess/blog/post-mortem-of-our-longes...
