Valid point. What difference do 400 years of perceived civilization make to the development of the human brain? Clearly not much as the world is being bombed back into stone age by (no-)kings and fanatic antichrists. Good thing we haven't been able to pick a fight with aliens. The proverb refers to the consequences of actions: sowing worthless or rebellious efforts (wind) results in disastrous, magnified destruction (whirlwind/storm). Written in the Old Testament book of Hosea 8:7 to describe Israel's foolish political alliances and idolatry.

Poor sod. Just imagine the inferiority complexes he must have to be afraid of liberal, democratic women. He’s also a prime example of how a supposedly solid education (Haverford, Stanford, Habermas) or DEI parents don’t necessarily guarantee a well-rounded upbringing. He said that before he went to Germany, he had underestimated just how German his upbringing had been. I dare not ask what exactly that means.

CVC announced in January '26 to buy Marathon. It's quite possible Marathon doesn't want to take on any potential new risk before closing or that it was part of the DD discussions with CVC.
