You can dissolve a known amount of caffeine into a known amount of liquid, and then partition the liquid.

Caffeine dosage is strange, because a fraction of the regular dose can remove withdrawal symptoms.

It’s not just caffeine withdrawal, they’re also in withdrawal from reversible MAO inhibitors present in all coffee brews. Caffeine is a large part of it, but it’s the MAOIs which make the concoction strongly habit-forming.
