You might want to research such things as "feedback loops", the effects a high CO2 had in the past million year with extinction events and the almost impossible task of reversing the released CO2 and more. Climate scientists have studied these models for years now, real life is not a CIV game.

LRB had a great article about Palantir and the NHS in their latest issue. [1] What I mostly enjoyed reading is the insight that their actual software is quite "rubbish", something I have seen people mention in discussions here, especially in the early years of Palantir before it became more notorious and well-known. I do believe the "evil company" is part of their marketing to cover up that they are your usual proprietary software with a shitty UI and expensive contract that is being sold to clueless upper management.

There was a major campaign the last decade from many pro-capital and libertarian thinkers to label Adorno and other philosophers as the root cause of many people grievances. Remember Peterson et all all warning about "Cultural marxism" and "postmodernism"?

I try not be against new terms like "enshittification" or "dopamine fracking" for this reason, the tech people at the levers that might be convinced to change course seem to be more open to substack and blogpost concepts (see SSC / rationalist popularity for all this new terminology that just describes old continental philosophical concepts) instead of having to read old European thinkers that use too much Marxist terminology.

The participants reported increased psychological well-being and a decrease in problematic internet use, even after they started using the phones again. In our liberatarian paradise where everything is ads and poison because of the ruthless aim of maximizing profit, the biggest enemy is heavy regulation from to some other body that is not a for-profit entity, be it a moral and spiritual guidance of a church or lifestyle or a strong government apparatus that is true to it's aim to improve the lives of it's citizens.

Strange how there are so many progressive radical groups and somehow the anti-nuclear activists are the only ones that manage to change the energy agenda in favour of the very powerful lobby of the fossil fuels. The animal activists never changed the subsidies to animal agriculture, the activists for international causes like Palestine haven't managed much either.
