not just cost-per-hour of the crew, but also rest schedules. A more economical flight-path is all well and good, but it's useless if it means that the crew will breach their permitted duty hours.

Now show me an AI coming up with General Relativity, or Integral Calculus, or Chopin's wrong note Etude.

AI builds on what comes before. Humans have an uncanny trait for creating things that are truly new.
