SSD installs were, for the longest time, the single best ROI on upgrading a laptop. I think a SATA SSD in that 2012 bad boy could considerably boost its performance.

I agree, but the incentives for Alphabet to encourage content like this isn't there. The content that is encouraged is that which keeps eyeballs glued to YouTube.

Just from an ergonomic standpoint it's a million times easier to deploy a go binary instead of a whole jvm and a jar file.

It's plug-in system is quite comprehensive. I just finished writing a note taking plug-in and the source code itself was a great reference for developing a plug-in.

I think some franchisees will sell day-old loaves for fifty cents. Some gen-x YouTuber was using it as a cheap food source in college back in the day.

At the same time, it used to be expected you would learn to program a computer you bought. So much so, that operating systems shipped with BASIC and a language manual. That is not the case today, but I guess software doesn't ship in the same ways it used to either.

Practically all of Activision's PS2 era catalog falls under this banner. We only recently got re-releases of their Star Trek stuff and a lot of their Marvel/movie tie-in games are MIA.

I think most tech companies rely on ignorance to sell their "simple" solutions. If everyone could solve their own problems their own way, then nobody would buy "simple" solutions.
