I haven’t considered it. There was a small time frame where I thought these are "serious" conditions which worsens my ability to see over time, but apparently it’s just a normal thing and I know that I usually react overly sensitive to "anything". Like in: if an average persons says that a cup of tea is warm, I’d say it’s hot. I try to put most things I encounter in/on me to this perspective and it massively helped me calming down over these things. I just stopped attributing floaters (amongst other things) any brain time and since then I basically forgot I have them.

I simply need dark mode for nearly everything as otherwise I see floaters/mouches volantes [0] starting seconds after starring at white/light backgrounds. The same also happens to me when looking at natural light, like the sky during the day. That’s why I am known as the winter-sunglasses-man in my bubble.
[0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floater

Not judging, just reporting: organizers this year have urged people to wear masks. The vast majority (I guess >90%) of current attendees don’t wear a mask as of now.
Congress-Seuche has been a thing since forever and it won’t stop this year.

Please check here to get late tickets: https://events.ccc.de/congress/2023/hub/board
Also, tickets this year weren’t that hard to get compared to previous years at CCH. You could buy tickets until Dec 9 this year (without vouchers) because lots of people clicked the order button but never paid and those tickets went back into the pool. Highly recommended to check the ticket page every day because this happens quite often.
Good luck next year!

I met developers who were way more than only 10x. They were so full of fire that they inspired whole departments with their drive. They drove up the productivity of each and every developer by 1.2x or something and in sum that was way more than they ever could have worked on their own. Sadly, management often doesn't recognize this skill and just sees a warrior who doesn't do as many commits as everyone else, finally getting rid of those.

Again, in my region probably nobody would ever enter credit card details just to test. Even if you prove them 120% to not charge anything.
Don't forget other markets even if you are not used to them.

I'm not nearly your age but discovered what it means to have a rollercoaster career.
Don't underestimate stability and the luxury to feel 'safe' in one place. If you fuck up once you don't have to be scared to sit on the street if you've been in the bucket for a long time already.
We usually don't get better with risk when we age.

The word 'buddy' is considered unprofessional for me and some persons I know, maybe a lot of people even who are not English native speakers. It triggers the feeling of 'this might be a phishing site'.
